Individual Psychotherapy

In individual therapy, you and your therapist will undertake the difficult but gratifying work of figuring things out—why you may be feeling badly and what you can do about it. Therapy can involve changing negative thought patterns and examining destructive behaviors, and reflecting on personal relationships and how they contribute to your life.

The process of therapy will require active effort on your part. Therapy will typically last for just 1 of the 168 hours in a week. In order to get the most out of that time, you will have to continue thinking about your meetings with your therapist, pay close attention to your daily experiences, begin to make small behavioral changes, and complete homework between sessions.

At Anchor Psychological Associates, our clinicians work with a broad range of individuals on countless different issues. If you’re ready to get to work, give us a call.

Couples Counseling

Whether your relationship has gradually grown more distant or a sudden crisis has brought forth a new and challenging dynamic, couples counseling at Anchor Psychological Associates can help get things back on track. When engaged in couples counseling, you will first meet with your clinician individually and thereafter attend sessions together.

Assessment

Psychological testing is initiated to address a referral question. Common referral questions ask about the possible presence of ADHD, a learning disability, or other diagnosis; whether or not an individual would qualify for accommodations, for school or standardized testing; if a child is a strong intellectual fit for private school admission; whether an individual is affected by a psychological condition; and more.

If an individual or organization has suggested that you or a loved one undergo psychological testing, Anchor Psychological Associates will work with you to identify the questions you would like to address. Depending on the referral question, we may seek to involve teachers, parents, and other sources of information as necessary. We will work with you every step of the way, from your initial phone call to the final feedback meeting when we will review your test results and report.

The types of assessment we perform at Anchor Psychological Associates, LLC include:

-Psychoeducational
-ADHD Assessment
-Disability
-School / Testing Accommodations
-Diagnostic Evaluations
-Bariatric Assessment
-Intellectual / Private School Placement
-Vocational / Fitness for Religious Life
